CMC: Importing Core Selections using Catalog customization

Important! When inputting purchase or sales prices into the spreadsheet they should be entered excluding VAT as this will be added on automatically on import.

1. Create an Excel spreadsheet listing the articles and price.  It should be formatted as such:
   
   
   
   Column A = The code reference to the existing article code in the intended catalog.
   Column B = The customized purchase price.
   Note: You can have a column C with a customized selling price to do this see step 5 of this article.
    
2. Save the Excel spreadsheet as a CSV (Comma delimited) .csv file in the Save as drop-down selection.
    

• At Project level, click on Additional modules in the menu bar.

• Select Catalog customization.
   
• In the Catalog customization window, click on the catalog name you want to customize.
   
• Click the Customization (catalog ref) button.
  
  
   

The Catalog customizations window will now open.  Here you can make all customizations listed in the step-by-step guide.

1. In the right-hand list of buttons, click on Import.
   
   
    
2. Select 3 - Core selection customization (from file).
    
3. In the file section window, locate your saved .csv file and click Open.
    
4. In the Import core selection window, you have an option to alter the search group and item group of the articles to be imported.  Once you have made your choices, click OK. 
    

1. In the Add decimals window, you will be asked if the last two digits should be used as decimals.
   
   In this example:
   
   
   
   Clicking Yes will make the price for U40-3 1.01
   Clicking No will make the price for U40-3 101.00
   
   Take your time to check this and select your option.
    
2. Once complete, you will be asked if you want to see the log.  Clicking Yes will open a notepad where you can review if all articles were imported correctly.
    
3. In the New customization window, enter a reference which will be helpful for you to identify it from other customisations and click OK.
   
   You can double-click the 3 - core selection customization to check details.
    
4. Once complete, click the Close button at the top-right.
    
5. In the catalog customization window, click the Close button at the top-right.  
    
6. You will be asked to confirm that the customized catalog should be exported to ensure no loss if data is corrupted.  Click Yes to confirm.
    

The same steps as above can be taken including a Sales price. 

1. At step 1 Prepare the .csv file,  add the sales price in Column C of the excel file.
   
   
    
2. Follow the step 2 Select the catalog as above.
    
3. Before you import the core selection, enable the purchase price and sales price in the customization.  In the Catalog customizations window, click New.
   
   
    
4. Select 7 - Catalog settings customization.
    
5. In the Customization properties window, add a name as a familiar reference and click OK.
    
6. In the Catalog information window, tick Purchase price and sales price for each product and click OK.
   
   
    
7. Follow the step 3 Import the core selection as above, ensuring that a third column, column C, has been included in the .csv.
    
8. Follow step 4 Confirm decimal place as above.
