In the Edit roles window you can define what kind of role you want to use in Winner Flex or in Winner Design. You define a user role by choosing which functions that role is able to access. A role can have full access, read-only access or no access to the various functions in Winner. There are 8 default roles which can be used as a basis to create user-defined roles. For more information on what the default role function permissions are see article Security Roles: overview
To assign a security role to a Winner Flex user, see How to assign roles to users in Winner Flex.
To assign a security role to a Winner Design user see, Security policies.
Creating a user-defined role
At Project level:
1. Select Global settings > Security > Edit roles.
2. In the Edit roles window select, via the Role drop-down list, which role you want to edit.
3. Select which functions the role will have access to. You can define whether the user is to have Full access, Read-only access or No access to the various functions, by clicking on one of the 3 fields in front of the function(s) in the Permissions group box.
- If the user is to have Full access, left-click the circle to the right. The circle will then be green.
- If the user is to have Read-only access, left-click the circle in the middle. The circle will then be orange.
Note: This is not available for all functions.
- If the user is to have No access, left-click the circle to the left. The circle will then be red.
4. Click on the Save as button to save the changes.
5. Specify the name of the role and click OK. The change will now be saved in a new role.
Note: If the change has been carried out in a user-defined role, you can save the change by clicking on the Save button directly, but the Save button will not be accessible when changing a default role, because default roles cannot be changed.
7. Click on the Close button in the Edit roles dialogue box to close the procedure.
