Winner Design users may find that the user's USB dongle, linked to their Winner Design licence, is not recognised when they attempt to start Winner Design. This may be because their PC is missing a required driver.
Note: Winner Flex users' licences are managed by their Flex account and do not require a USB dongle. For more information, see What is the difference between Winner Flex and Winner Design?
Installing the required driver
With the USB dongle connected to the PC:
- Go to https://cp.compusoftgroup.com/worldwide/downloads
- Under Miscellaneous, left-click the Sentinel Protection Installer.exe file to begin downloading it. Wait for the download to complete.
Note: Users may be prompted to allow or keep the download by their internet browser. - Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to This PC\Downloads.
- In Downloads, double-click the Sentinel Protection Installer.exe file.
- An installation wizard will open. Follow the steps to install the driver.
Note: If the user already has the driver installed, a different installation wizard will open titled Program maintenance. Users should select the Remove option, restart their PC and run the Sentinel Protection Installer.exe file again to re-install. - Restart the PC.
- Start Winner Design.
If the USB dongle still does not work
- Connect the USB dongle to a different PC, that also has Winner Design installed, and attempt to start Winner Design. This will help our Support team to diagnose if the problem is the Winner Design installation on the user's PC, or the user's USB dongle.
- Take note if Winner Design starts or if the user receives the same error as on the previous PC.
