A project becomes locked as soon as a user opens an alternative. This is to prevent more than one person working on the same project.
When another user tries to open the project they will see an error message to say that the project is locked.
In some circumstances such as the computer crashing the project may remain locked and needs to be unlocked first by the System administrator and then in the project itself.
Steps for the system administrator
- Open the Flex platform and click the settings cog at the bottom of the left hand menu bar.
- Under the Admin area click on Locks. This shows a view of all projects that are currently locked, which means the project is open for editing on another computer.
- You can release the lock by selecting the listed project and clicking Release lock in the top tool bar.
- In the window Release lock select release.
Note: To assist you, when you select the project to unlock it, it will open a Lock information area on the right hand side of the screen. This lists, amongst other things, who has the project open.
