Winner users may encounter graphical errors in the Perspective view and Elevation view windows, for example flickering, slow, jerky movement whilst navigating or a blank window which shows a black screen or grey screen. This is due to the user's graphics card, or graphics processing unit (GPU), not meeting the minimum requirements for Winner.
For more information, see Hardware requirements and system specification for Winner.
Temporary measures
Users whose PC does not meet the minimum requirements for running Winner are able to mitigate the graphical errors they may experience by adjusting the real-time rendering settings.
- Exit Winner.
- In the Confirm dialogue box, click Yes.
- Click the Windows Start icon and open Winner Info:
Note: Users can also type "Winner Info" into the search bar. - In the Winner - System Information window, select the Troubleshooting tab.
- Under Real-time rendering (OpenGL), untick the Auto box for Render quality.
- Use the slider to lower the Render quality to Quality 0: Revert to legacy rendering engine.
- Under Real-time rendering (OpenGL, old version), tick the Disable OpenGL Acceleration box.
- Click Save & Close.
- Start Winner.
The Perspective view and the Elevation view should now display. However, both views will run at a lower graphical quality, slower speed and the real-time lighting effect will be disabled. To make full use of Winner, users should ensure their PC meets the recommended system requirements.
