Winner users may find that on-screen renders take a long time to complete. This may be due to the user's rendering settings in Winner, or the hardware installed in the user's PC, for example the user's central processing unit (CPU) and the user's graphics card (graphics processing unit, or GPU). Users can also adopt a temporary measure which may speed up rendering.
Rendering settings in Winner
At Alternative level:
- Right-click the Perspective view window.
- Select Perspective > Render view settings.
- In the Render quality settings window, click Default.
Note: Winner will select the appropriate render quality settings for the hardware installed on the user's PC. - Click OK.
- Begin another render.
Note: Press Ctrl+R on the keyboard to start a new on-screen render.
If the rendering speed improves
The user's render quality settings were set too high for the hardware installed on their PC.
If the rendering speed does not improve
The hardware installed in the user's PC may not meet the minimum required specifications for Winner.
Users can also adopt a temporary measure which may speed up rendering.
Temporary measures
At Alternative level:
- Right-click the Perspective view window.
- Select Perspective > Render view settings.
- In the Render quality settings window, left-click and drag to set the On-screen rendering resolution adjustment slider to Low.
- Click OK.
Note: Adopting a lower resolution setting may speed up a render, but will also result in a lower resolution render. Users who desire a faster, high-quality render should check the hardware installed on their PC.
Hardware installed in the user's PC
Winner uses the user's Central Processing Unit (CPU), commonly known as a processor, for rendering.
Winner does not use the user's Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), commonly known as a graphics card, for rendering. However, the GPU is used for displaying the Perspective view. Users experiencing graphical errors in the Perspective view should see Why are perspective and elevation not displaying correctly?
For more information and the minimum and recommended requirements, see Hardware requirements and system specification for Winner.
