Importing the plan into Winner from a .ifc file
Note: The .ifc files only will be imported into Winner if it has been exported from the software Autodesk Revit. When importing a .ifc file, Winner looks for Spaces (rooms), so it is important that the Spaces are defined when the file is exported.
At Project level:
- Open or create a project.
- Select Project > Import > Room definition(s).
- Select the files of type IFC files (*.ifc).
- Browse to the file, select it and click Open.
- In the Select spaces to import from IFC file window, each space Type is a reference to a milieu, and each space Count is the number of alternatives for that milieu:
Tick a Type box to select and click OK. - Next, you will be asked to select the alternative model, worktop model and confirm the drawing settings for each space count you import. This can take some time to complete if you select multiple spaces, or the count number of one space is high.
The file import is now complete:
- A milieu is created for each space type imported.
- An alternative is created for each instance of that space type.
