You can import a .prw and .drw to your Winner installation. This function is used to transfer an existing project or designs between Winner Design installations. In order to use this function you must first have exported the project or design. For information on exporting a project (.PRW), please see article Export a .DRW/.PRW file
Note: Winner Flex users have additional options please see article Winner Flex: Project migration process for more information on how to migrate projects from Winner Design into Flex. See below for importing a Design from the Flex database.
Import an Design
From Project Level
- Click on Design in the Menu bar and go to Import. Select from the following three options:
- From file (.DRW). This will open a file explorer so the file will need to be saved in an accessible location.
- Design from local database. This will import an design from another project on this installation.

Design from Flex database. This will import a design from another Flex project.
Note: If you are not a Flex user you will only see the first two options.

Select your choice.

In the Open window, browse to where the alternative that is to be imported is saved.

Select the design that should be imported by clicking on the file in the list.

Click the Open button.
Import a Project
Note: For Flex users wishing to import a project from their local Winner Design database see Winner Flex: Project migration process
From Project Level
- Click on Project in the Menu bar and go to Import. Select from the following three options:
- As new project (.PRW). The project being imported will be assigned the next available project number.
- As exported (.PRW). The project being imported will be assigned the same project number as it was exported. If this number already exists in your project list you will not be able to import it.
- Overwrite current (.PRW). The project being imported will receive the same project number as the existing open one and the existing open project will be deleted.

Select your choice.

In the Open window, browse to where the project that is to be imported is saved.

Select the project that should be imported by clicking on the file in the list.

Click the Open button.
Select customer from project
If the project contains updated customer information after exporting, it will not be stored in the customer registry. In the Select customer from project window, choose one of the following options:
- Use selected. Select the customer in the list, you can tick Show all customers to show all registered customers and then click Use selected.

Insert as new. Add the customer as a new customer by clicking Insert as new.
