This article tells you how to approve the default index settings, which means the cost and sales prices will both be set at the manufacturer's book price. If you want to set your own cost and sales prices, please see How can I setup my cost and sales index?
If you have installed catalogues without any price index set, a list of the catalogues will appear when you open Winner:
NOTE! This function depends on the catalogue and will only work for catalogues that are modified to provide a reminder when the price index is missing.
The check marks in front of the catalogues in the list are always turned ON when this dialog appears. To approve the default index settings, follow the instructions below:
- Select which catalogues in the list you want to change the price index on by checking or unchecking the boxes in front of the catalogues in the list. If you uncheck them, this will set the Winner prices to the book values. This means the cost and sales prices will match the manufacturer's book price. If you leave them checked, you will need to index them manually—see point 2. below.
Note: Click on the Reset option button if you want to remove all the check marks in front of the catalogues. The Index button will then change to Close. (If you click on the Close button, it means that you approve the index settings for all the catalogues as the default settings. Then the project list will be opened).
- Click on the Index button.
Note: If you use the security system in Winner, the Index button will only be available if you have access to change the indexes.
If you have turned the check mark in front of one or more of the catalogues OFF, you will automatically approve the index settings at the default value for these catalogues when you click on the Index button.
The catalogues that are missing indexes will be shown in red and marked with a X.
Note: If the whole line is not in red, just the catalogue name with a valid from date in brackets, this means there are different versions of the catalogue. For more information see article Show several catalogue versions with valid from date.
-
Double click one of the catalogues requiring approval to open the Catalogue information window.
- Check the Index settings approved box in the top left to confirm the index settings.
- Click OK
- In the Registered catalogues window, the 'X' status on the selected catalogue should now have moved to the Updated column.
How you change the price indexes is described in the article How can I setup my cost and sales index?
