This article tells you how to approve the default index settings, this means the cost and sales prices will both be set at the manufacturer's book price. If you want to set your own cost and sales prices please see How can I setup my cost and sales index?
If you have installed catalogs without any price index set, a list of the catalogs will appear when you open Winner:
NOTE! This function is depending on the catalog, and will only work for catalogs that are modified for getting a reminder when the price index is missing.
The ticks in front of the catalogs in the list are always turned ON when this dialogue appears. To approve the default index settings follow the instructions below:
- Select which catalogs in the list you want to change the price index on by ticking or unticking the boxes in front of the catalogs in the list. If you untick them this will set the Winner prices to the book values. This means the cost and sales prices will match the manufacturers book price. If you leave them ticked you will need to index them manually - see point 2. below
Note: Click on the Reset option button if you want to remove all the ticks in front of the catalogs. The Index button will then be changed to Close. (If you click on the Close button, it means that you approve the index settings for all the catalogs as the default settings. Then the project list will be opened).
- Click on the Index button.
Note: If you use the security system in Winner, the Index button will only be available if you have access to change the indexes.
If you have turned the tick in front of one or more of the catalogs OFF, you will automatically approve the index settings at the default value for these catalogs when you click on the Index button.
The catalogs that are missing indexes will be shown in red and marked with X.
Note: If the whole line is not in red, just the catalog name with a valid from date in brackets, this means there are different versions of the catalog. For more information see article Show several catalog versions with valid from date.
-
Double click one of the catalogs requiring approval to get to the Catalog information window.
- Tick the Index settings approved box in the top left to confirm the index settings.
- Click OK
- In the Registered catalogs window, the 'X' status on the selected catalog should have now moved to the Updated column.
How you change the price indexes is described in the article How can I setup my cost and sales index?
