Catalog creation in Winner is a feature you can use if you are frequently adjusting in your plans:
- prices to match your own set of prices
- specific sets of unit measurements
- code references
It is also useful if you are supplying the products yourself. You can create your own catalog in Winner by taking the following steps:
Register your catalog
- At Project level, click on Register in the Menu bar and select Catalogs.
- In the Registered catalogs window, click on the Catalogs tab and select New.
- In the New catalog window, enter the name for your catalog and click OK.
Your new catalog will now be listed in your registered catalogs. It will appear in red font until it has had its indexing approved see section below Approve the Index settings.
Add your Product group and Model
You will need to enter at least one Product group with at least one Model.
- In the Registered catalogs window, click to highlight your catalog.
- Click the Groups/Models button on the right hand side.
- In the Groups/Models window click on the Product groups tab and select Add group.
- In the New product group window enter the name for the product group and click OK.
The named product group will now appear in the Product groups drop-down - Click the Products groups tab and select Group properties.
- In the Product group properties window you can rename the Product group, and set the price group and price index.
Note: Ticking the Don't enter order/quotation head will mean that the catalog will not appear in the printout header. Click OK when you have entered the required data. - Click the Models tab and select Add Model.
- In the New model window enter the name for the Model and click OK.
- The Model properties window will automatically appear. Check the details of the name, the name on printouts and the pricing details and click OK.
- Click Close, to return to the Registered catalogs window.
Add your Products
- In the Registered catalogs window, click to highlight your catalog.
- Click the Products button on the right hand side.
- The Products window will currently be named [No products]. You will define your products in this window.
- The mandatory fields to enter to define your product are Code and Drawing type:
Code - The product code needs to be unique.
Drawing type - this is set to None as default. Select a drawing type from the drop-down box.
Note - If you are creating a worktop catalog, at least one product needs to be defined as Drawing type Worktop. - The calculation fields on the right are needed for your quotation. Enter the information you require.
NOTE: If the unit is calculated in metres, you should select Calculation and in the dialog Quantity calculation the Equation will be L. For square metres the Equation should be set as L*D. - Enter the price of the unit in the Price group field at the bottom of the window. If you have multiple price groups, first select the relevant price group in the Prices section above.
- Click the Save button before moving to a new product.
- To enter another new product, click the forward arrow key at the top left.
- Once you have finished entering your products click OK.
Approve the Index settings
- In the Registered catalogs window, click to highlight your catalog and click the Properties button on the right.
- In the Catalog information window, tick the Index settings approved box.
- Click OK to return to the Registered catalogs list. The status of your catalog should now show as updated and it will no longer appear in red font.
- Click the Close button.
- You will be asked to confirm exporting of your newly made catalog, which will mean it will get saved into the Winner folder db\products. This is to prevent data loss in the case of a network error. Click Yes to confirm if you wish to export.
