Using CMC you can import your own codes and prices into a catalogue of your choice.
Note: You need to have imported a core selection to the catalogue before adding new codes.
Before starting the import process
You will need a spreadsheet with the data to be imported. This will consist of 4 columns - code, description, buying price, selling price. This will be copied and pasted later in the process.
The import process
- At project level click Additional Modules and select Catalogue customisation.
- Double click the catalogue you wish to add new codes to.
- In the catalogue customisations window click New and select 3 - Core selection customisation.
- In the Customisation properties window give your customisation a name. This will help you identify which group of codes you are adding into the catalogue.
- Click OK, this opens the Core selection (add new codes) window.
- Go to your spreadsheet containing the data you want importing select all cells with data in and use keyboard shortcut Ctrl and C to copy it.
- Return to Core selection (add new codes) window. Click on Core selection in the top menu bar and select Get from clipboard.
- This opens the Import core selection window, here you can set what product, search and item group you want your new codes to apply to.
- Click OK.
- You will now see all your new codes have been added into the list for your catalogue.
- Click OK.
- Select your new customisation and click Ready for publishing.
- Click Close to finish customising your catalogue.
