How to add a visible installation and/or electrical symbol to your design

Adding installations to a plan will enable you to print out installation plans for the tradespeople and allow for accurate placements of the visible sockets and switches for the customer to see.  
 

Note: If you cannot see the installation object in room definition mode right-click in the plan and select Visible layers.  Ensure you make a selection that states with installations. If you cannot see it in furnishing mode right-click in the plan and select Visible layers > Define profile and under the Room section ensure that the checkbox is ticked under the Show column.

How to add a installation object with option to attach a symbol to it

  1.  In your Design, click on the Room definition mode icon

  2. Click on a surface on which the installation object should be placed (for example, a wall)
     
  3. Click on the Add installation object icon:  installation_object.png

  4. In the Select object window, for visible installations, click to highlight your choice and click OK.
     
  5. Set the distance from wall and wall placement of the object, click OK after each selection. Note: Distance from Left/Right is measured as if you are standing in front of the wall.  
     
  6. The Select object window for installation symbols will now automatically open.  Click and select the relevant symbol to be attached to the object and click OK.  Note: If you don't want a symbol linked to the 3D object, click Cancel.
     

  7. Once placed, to make any other adjustments to the parameters:
    in Room definition mode, access the installation via Room surfaces/objects list on the right hand side.  You will need to expand the arrow symbol next to the wall listed to see all objects attached to that wall.  Right-click on the object and select Installation properties, here you can customise many attributes of the installation object.

    Note: In the Plan window below, the installation object on the right has a symbol linked to the object.  If you link a symbol to the installation object, Winner will remember which one you selected and suggest the same symbol the next time you add that installation object.

How to add a installation symbol without displaying the object


1.  In your Alternative, click on the Room definition mode icon

2. Click on a surface on which the installation symbol should be placed (for example, a wall)

3. Click on the Add installation symbol icon: installation_symbol.png

  • In the Select object window for installation symbols, click and select the relevant symbol and click OK.
     
  • Set the wall placement of the object.  Note: Distance from Left/Right is measured as if you are standing in front of the wall.  The placement can be altered later by dragging and dropping the installation symbol.
     
  • To delete the electrical symbol select it on the inner wall edge and press delete on your keyboard.

To add an installation object

  1.  In your Design, click on the Room definition mode icon

  3. In the browser click on the Installations tab this will display all installation objects and symbols.
     
  4. Under Type select Visible installations, this filters to show visible installation objects only.
     
  5. Select the required object and click the Add button or alternatively double-click the object to add it.
     
  6. Set the distance from wall and wall placement of the object, click OK after each selection. Note: Distance from Left/Right is measured as if you are standing in front of the wall.  
     
  7. The installation symbol dialog box will now open and you can add a symbol to the object and click OK or close the box if you do not require an electrical symbol.
     
  8. Once placed, to make any other adjustments to the parameters:
    In Room definition mode, access the installation by clicking on the Cursor tab in the catalogue browser.  You will need to expand the arrow symbol next to the wall listed to see all objects attached to that wall.  Right-click on the object and select Installation properties, here you can customise many attributes of the installation object.

How to add an electrical installation symbol only

  1.  In your Design, click on the Room definition mode icon

  2. Click on a surface on which the installation object should be placed (for example, a wall).
     
  3. In the browser click on the Installations tab this will display all installation objects and symbols.
     
  4. Under Type select Electrical, this filters to show electrical symbols only.
     
  5. Select the required symbol and click the Add button or alternatively double-click the symbol to add it.
     
  6. Set the placement Note: Distance from Left/Right is measured as if you are standing in front of the wall.  The placement can be altered later by dragging and dropping the symbol.
     
  7. Click OK.
     
  8. To delete the electrical symbol select it on the inner wall edge and press delete on your keyboard.
