The article browser tool has been enhanced with innovative features designed to improve efficiency and elevate the design experience.
It will transform how designers interact with catalogues, presenting a seamless, efficient, and user-friendly experience.
This article gives instructions on how to use the catalogue browser to place an item and how to undock it, should you wish to place it on a second screen.
Note: for ease of use all icons in the browser display a tooltip if you hover over them.
To place an item
- Either manually place your cursor or use the Cursor tab, in the catalogue browser, where you can also set the height of the item.
- Select the Browser tab and the required catalogue. The units will be displayed as 3D images or a list to change the display see article Catalogue Browser: Display options.
- You can enter the product code if known or to narrow down your search use one of the various methods to filter the catalogue. For more information click here.
- To see more information on the selected unit click the symbol, this will display a larger image and detailed information about the unit.
- Select the required unit and click on Add in the bottom right of the browser.
- The unit will be placed in the plan. If you want the same unit again click Add again.
To replace an item
- Select the item to be replaced in the plan.
- Select the replacement item in the catalogue browser.
- Click the Replace button in the bottom right hand corner of the browser.
To undock the browser
On the Browser tab click the undock icon at the top right and drag the browser to its required placement for example on a second monitor.
To dock the browser again click the undock icon a second time or close the window.
