In Winner you insert a sloping ceiling or more than one to make a pitched, vaulted or apex ceiling. Sloping ceilings can be added to both external and interior walls.
To place a sloping ceiling in the room
- Make sure you are in Room definition mode.
- Left-click the wall the sloping ceiling will be attached to.
- Click on the Add sloping ceiling object icon, or right click and select Add sloping ceiling object.
-
Select object: All available sloping ceiling objects are displayed in this window - this includes dormers and dropped ceilings. A preview of the highlighted sloping ceiling is shown at the top left of the window. Find the type of sloping ceiling you want to place by clicking on the different sloping ceiling objects.
- Double-click on the correct sloping ceiling, or click on OK once you have highlighted the sloping ceiling.
- Enter the parameters for the sloping ceiling, click OK. If you leave the parameters unedited the sloping ceiling width will default to the measurement of the entire wall.
Note: If you make the height the same height as the wall you are attaching it to, this will create a sloping wall.
- Specify the placement distance from the side of the wall, and click OK.
Note: the Distance from direction can be changed, using the drop-down box, from left to right. Left and right are determined as if the user was facing the selected wall.
To create a pitched or apex ceiling
Set the overall room height to the highest point of the pitch. See article Change ceiling height
Follow the instructions above again, but use an opposing wall so that the two sloping ceilings meet to form a pitched ceiling.
