A cut-out in a filler can be created when you draw a filler and it intersects with an existing object, such as a building block in Standard products.
- First place or create an object which will act as the cutting-shape for your filler.
Make sure this object is placed at the same position where you intend to draw the filler.
In this example, we will use a rectangle and a cylinder as the cutting shapes: - Select Free drawing of filler icon and draw the filler shape around the object being used for the cut-out. The filler should be placed and overlap with the cutting shape where you want your cut-out to be. In this example, we are creating a rectangular hole in the left filler and a circular hole in the right filler.
When you complete drawing the filler, you will get a message that the new object intersects with other objects. Click Yes to continue.
Note: ensure the object is taller than the height of the filler or it won't cut out the shape.
See below for examples of fillers being drawn around the cut-out objects:
Example of the fillers surrounding the objects: -
Select and delete the intersecting objects that you used to cut the filler.
The cut-outs in the fillers will now be visible:
Tip: There are many objects with different shapes in Standard products – Interior, Building blocks section. Any of these can be used as a cutting template.
