Winner Design users may encounter errors necessitating the repair of a single project. For example, the project may fail to open, the user may receive a Btrieve error with a project number or the following error message appears when trying to open a project An error occured when reading the alternative from the database. If the problem persist, please try the 'Repair' option in the project archive.

Note! Winner Flex users are protected from project database errors, as users' projects are saved on the Flex platform. For more information, see What is the difference between Winner Flex and Winner Design?
Repairing a project
Note! If the user is unsure about attempting the repair, they should contact our Support team for assistance. For more information, see New to the Support Centre? Look here!
At Project level:
- Select Register > Project archive.
- In the Manage project archive window, select the desired project and click Repair.
- A Windows Notepad window, titled repairLog.txt will open.
When the text *** ENDLOG ** appears at the bottom of the window, click X to close the window. - In the Manage project archive window, click Close.
- Select Project > Open.
- In the Project List window, select the repaired project and click Open.
