Note: This process is only available to the CMC administrator. The customization will leave existing collections in the installed catalog untouched.
First Steps
- Go to Additional modules > Catalog customization.
- Double click on the installed catalog you wish to add extra code collections to.
Note: For instructions on how to download and install the catalog in CMC click here.
- In the window Catalog customizations click New in the right-hand toolbar.
- Select 9 - Article extra code collections
- In the window Customization properties give the condition a name (this is for your internal reference only), you may add a description if it is needed.
- Click OK and a spreadsheet template will be generated. Note: this may be hidden by other windows so ensure you check your windows taskbar for the Excel icon. Click this and the spreadsheet will appear as the top window.
How to enter details into the spreadsheet template
Column A - enter a # followed by the collection name Note: the cell next to this one (in our example B2) must be empty.
Column B - On the rows below (in our example row 3) enter a # followed by the product code (note: this must exist in the installed catalog). List all codes in the collection in this column
Column C - in the collection row (in our example row 2) enter the appropriate exclusive mode value from the three available:
0 = You can choose how many extra code collections you want.
1 = You must choose only one option.
2 = You can choose only one or none
Column D - is optional but in the collection row (in our example row 2) a description can be entered. This description is what will appear in the extra codes dialog box within Winner.
Column E onwards - in the collection row (in our example row 2) is for the extra codes - enter a # followed by the product code followed by square brackets containing the quantity. For example #B60[2.00] is product code B60 quantity 2. You can enter as many extra codes as you need but they must start in column E followed by F etcetera. Note: you can have different quantities for the various extra codes, but all codes must be contained within the installed catalog.
Completion steps
Before you click Ready for publishing you need to ensure that you have added the two mandatory customizations 4 and 7. These both need to be set to Ready for publishing
When you click Ready for publishing for 9, if the Excel file is invalid you will get a warning message detailing what is incorrect. A file is considered valid if the following conditions are met:
ExclusiveMode values are valid (i.e., 0, 1, 2).
There are no empty CodeCollections. Each collection must include:
- Collection name
- ExclusiveMode
- At least one code
- At least one extra code
All product codes must exist in the catalog (both regular and extra codes).
If it is incorrect you will need to click Edit which reopens the spreadsheet so that you can amend it to meet all validation rules.
Importing your own spreadsheet
You can Import an existing Excel or csv file and edit it, this will also define a new collection. However it must follow the same layout as the template shown above.

Note: For instructions on how to download and install the catalog in CMC click here.
- In the window Catalog customizations click Import in the right-hand toolbar.
