In Winner it is possible to add an exterior background / outside scenery to a window view, to make your design more realistic. There are a variety of backgrounds available, or you can upload your own as a customized background. For example, a photograph of the actual view from a customer's window.
You can add a stock background to an individual window, a customized background to an individual window or add a background to multiple windows on the same wall.
Note: The default background when you insert a window is sky.
To add a background from Winner's library to individual windows
At Alternative, in Room definition mode:
- Left-click to select the desired window
- Click on the Edit color settings for room and objects icon:
- In the Assign material to surface dialog box, select Window background.
- Click the Select material button and this will open the Material choice dialog box.
- Open the Views folder and select your view from a variety of sub-folders.
- Click OK and OK again.
To add a background of your own image to individual windows
At Alternative, in Room definition mode:
- Left-click to select the desired window
- Click on the Edit color settings for room and objects icon:
- In the Assign material to surface dialog box select Window background.
- Click the Select material button and this will open the Material choice dialog box.
- Under Select material library, click Customized for the Alternative.
- Click the Import from file button at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Browse to where your image file is stored, make sure the Files of type drop-down matches your image file extension e.g. jpg or png etc.
- Once located click Open.
- In the Customer material properties dialog box leave the Size as Stretch to surface and click OK.
- Click OK again and for a third time.
To add a background to several windows on the same wall
You can also add a single background to several windows on the the same wall, for example a wide angle photograph of the customer's garden, so that the view from each window is representative of what is actually seen.
At Alternative, in Room definition mode:
IMPORTANT: If you have already changed the window(s) background from the default sky, then you would have to change this back to the default before assigning a background to the whole wall.
- Select the desired wall.
Note: Ensure that no windows are selected only the wall. - Click on the Edit color settings for room and objects icon:
- Follow the rest of the instructions for adding a background to an individual window, or for adding a customized background.
Note: For both sets of instructions, begin at step 3.
