Users can access project documentation quickly and easily from within the Winner program, such as quotations, orders and invoices.
Accessing and viewing documents
At Project level:
- Click the Documents icon, located along the toolbar on the right side of the screen:
Note: Users can also select Project > Documents, or right-click an alternative and select Documents.
- The Flex platform will open at the Documents tab, showing all the documentation associated with the open project.
At Alternative level:
- Select Alternative > Documents.
Note: Users can also click the Documents icon.
- The Flex platform will open at the Documents tab, showing all the documentation associated with the open Alternative.
Saving PDfs
- When the user creates PDF documents they are automatically uploaded to the Flex platform and saved to the local folder on the user's PC.
- The option Save locally only can be used if you want to create a temporary file that you don’t want to be uploaded to Flex Documents, or that you first want to edit the file locally and then save to Flex later.
When selecting Save locally only, Winner Flex suggests a new sub folder "Local" in the Export Directory of your project.
Export/Flex/Company/Project/Design/Local
Note: When opening the Export Directory through Flex during the download process, all local files that are not stored in the Flex platform will now be moved to the advised sub folder shown above. Folders will not be moved, only files.
- Flex will suggest a filename with incrementing number to avoid duplicates. For example Quotation-1.pdf, Quotation-2.pdf, etc.
Local Export Directory
- The View Export directory function is unchanged. Selecting this will open the local folder on the user's PC to show all documents.
Note: If you delete a file locally, that is within the Export folder, it will be downloaded again, but if you delete the file on the Flex Platform it will be moved to a backup sub-folder locally, named Backup/DeletedInFlex.
- Within Winner if you click on Alternative - View Export directory... it will download all missing files of that Alternative/Project from Flex before opening the local folder.
Note: Flex files are not synchronised here, they are only downloaded. Any existing files with the same name but different content will be automatically saved into a new subfolder named Backup.
Note: Files that are deleted in Flex or a newer version of the file is available in Flex, will be moved to the Backup Folder.
- The Export Directory has a new FLEX sub-folder where Flex Documents are temporarily stored for fast access. Do not manually copy files to this folder as they will not be uploaded to Flex.
If you have local files that belong to a FLEX project, drag and drop them to the Flex Documents window to make them available on all your devices.
Disable syncing the local directory to Flex
