This article explains how to put different floor levels in a room and add furniture to it. It includes a mezzanine floor.
In Room furnishing mode:
- Place the Cursor where the floor is to be inserted or you can drag and drop it once it is inserted.
- Click on Standard products button, on the right hand side of the screen.
- Select Interior building blocks > Building blocks. Block Code W400 012 will give you a square block. Click OK.
Note: The Search button, found on the right hand side, can be used to find items in Standard Products by either code or description. - Select the placement to be On The Floor or Other > Special Height Up and enter the value if you want a different height; for example a mezzanine floor.
- Set parameters for the building block being used as a floor and click OK.
Note: If you are adding furniture to the raised floor you will need to set the building block to a Decor Object. You can do this in the Plan window, select the building block right click on the mouse and select the option Decor Object.
Note: If there are any doors or windows connecting to the raised floor the placement for these objects will also need to be changed to reflect the change in the floor height. If skirting is needed on the raised floor edge, the raised floor will have to be drawn as an interior wall, setting the height as step height.
Adding furniture to a raised floor
When adding furniture to a raised area there are two options:
- Change the plinth height, (via a second plinth option if you have furniture on both levels), so it includes the raised floor. This can be done in the drawing settings for the alternative (press F7 on your keyboard to access Drawing settings). This option will leave the handle placement unaltered. See article How to have two different plinth heights
Note: When changing the plinth height the plinths should be set to only drawn, in the Drawing settings, so that Winner does not add the plinth into the quotation. The plinths will need to be added to the quotation manually - see article Adding a new or additional line in the quotation - Cabinets can be raised off the floor by altering their placement (which will always be the lowest level) however, by doing this Winner will assume that these cabinets are wall cabinets and may change the handle placement.
