Winner offers two options to draw ceiling beams: Structural ceiling beams and wooden ceiling beams.
Structural ceiling beams
To achieve this use the draw an interior wall function. The reason for using this is that Winner will see the beam as a wall, this enables coving to be added if required.
-
At Alternative, whilst in Room Definition mode or Room Furnishing mode, click on Draw interior wall icon.
- Use the Draw tool or the Draw rectangle tool to draw your wall. This will then be changed into a beam later.
- For the initial steps of drawing an interior wall please follow this link: Draw an interior wall
and follow the instructions in the linked article up to step 7. - When the Interior wall properties window appears make the following changes:
Change the Height to the height of the beam.
Click on Advanced settings arrow and change Distance from floor to the distance between floor and underside of the beam. - Coving can be added now. This can be done via the drop down box at the bottom of the window.
- The color of the beam can be changed by clicking on the Color button.
Note: The beam can be moved around the room by clicking on a corner point and dragging and dropping it.
Wooden ceiling beams
At Alternative, whilst in Room Furnishing mode,
- Click on Standard Products button on the right hand side of your screen.
- Expand the Interior, building blocks category and select the group Ceiling beams.
- There are a selection of different beams and all the items can be changed to the dimensions required.
- Select a beam by either double clicking it, or select it and click OK.
- Once a beam is selected, Set height position, click OK, then Set parameters for the beam, click OK.
- You can move the placement of the beam by dragging and dropping it.
Note: If the beam can't be seen in the plan, this is because it is a decor object so ensure that Show decor objects is selected under Plan on the menu bar.
Note: If once the beam has been placed the dimensions are not correct, double click on the beam and make the necessary changes in the Object parameters window. You can also change the color of the beam in this window.
