Winner can create a printout of multiple different documents in the order that you require. The benefit of this is having one printout with all the information that you may require for an order or a quote to a customer. It can create a quotation with a plan and elevations and even perspectives as one document rather than multiple documents or attachments.
The Batch print definition window allows users to create a new batch print or edit an existing batch print. Here users can also add a customised printout they have defined as a macro to a new or existing batch print. For more information, see How to define a printout as a macro.
Create a batch print
At Project or Alternative level:
- On the menu bar select Global settings > System settings.
- In the System settings window, select the Printouts tab.
- Under the Printouts tab, in the Batch Print section click New, or select an existing batch print definition and click Edit.

- Select the batch print you require.
- Once the batch is completed select Export.
Note: If you have selected to have them as individual files you can rename them.
Batch print definition fields
1. Name
Enter the name of the batch print.
2. Printout type
Select printout type for the batch.
What is selected in this field will determine which macros and layouts will be available in the list when the user clicks on the Add button for adding a new batch print, and which status will be updated on the alternative when the user prints the batch.
Users can select between the following options:
-
Quotation: When selecting printout type Quotation, both printout macros for graphic prints, for example the plan, elevation and perspective, and layouts for printing the quotation can be added to the batch.
NOTE! Users can only add one quotation layout in each batch print in addition to the graphic printout macros.
When the user starts a batch print using this definition, Winner will ask if the user wishes to change the status of the alternative to Quotation sent.
Note: For more information, see What does 'Quotation sent' mean?
-
Quotation acceptance: When selecting printout type Quotation acceptance, both printout macros for graphic prints, for example the plan, elevation and perspective, and layouts for printing the quotation acceptance can be added to the batch.
NOTE! Users can only add one quotation acceptance layout in each batch print in addition to the graphic printout macros.
When the user starts a batch print using this definition, Winner will ask the user to enter the Sales contract sent date and the Approved for order date and will change the status of the alternative to Sales contract sent.
Note: For more information, see Quotation Acceptance.
-
Order: When selecting printout type Order, both printout macros for graphic prints, for example the plan, elevation and perspective, and layouts for printing the order can be added to the batch.
NOTE! Users can only add one order layout in each batch print in addition to the graphic printout macros.
When the user starts a batch print later on, Winner will ask the user to enter the Approved for order date, if it was not already entered, and change the status of the alternative to Order sent.
- Other: When selecting printout type Other, only printout macros for graphic prints, for example the plan, elevation and perspective, can be added to the batch. Layouts for commercial forms, such as quotations and sales contracts, cannot be added.
3. Additional options for the batch print
-
Print leading page with document overview. Tick this field to print a leading page with a document overview when the batch is printed.
Note: If the document is exported as a PDF it will not produce a leading page. The leading page is added only when the batch print is sent to a printer. -
Export the documents as individual files. Tick this field to export and/or print the batch print as individual files and not one .pdf file.
Note: Once a batch print is completed you will be able to change the name of the file.
4. Used macros
This group box will show all used macros. Click Add to insert new macros to the list.
To change the order in the list of the added macros, and therefore the order in which they are printed, users can move macros up or down by highlighting the macro and clicking on the Up or Down icons.
5. Add
Click Add to insert new macros into the batch print.
When the user clicks Add, all macros that are selectable for the chosen printout type will be shown.
Note: (P) denotes a portrait layout for a printout and (L) denotes a landscape layout.
For more information, see How to define a printout as a macro.
6. Delete
To delete a macro from the batch print, highlight the macro in the section Used macros and click Delete.
7. Quantity
Enter how many copies to print for the selected macro.
8. Printer
Select a printer for the selected macro. If the user selects <Default>, Winner will use the default printer.
For more information on printers, see Assign different default printers for different forms.
9. Room shape
- Room shape: If a macro that is made for the Plan view is selected, users can click the Room shape drop-down menu and select a room shape to assign to that macro. This makes it possible to have two plan view macros in one batch print, for example one with a landscape (L) layout and one with a portrait (P) layout, but assign a different room shape to each macro. In this case, Winner would choose the macro appropriate for the room layout of the selected alternative.
Room shape | Examples |
For landscape or equal sided room only | |
For portrait room only | |
For any room shape |
Note! The physical layout of a macro cannot be changed. (P) indicates a portrait layout and (L) indicates a landscape layout.
-
Repeat for all perspectives: If a macro that is made for the Perspective view is selected, users can tick this field and the macro will be repeated on all perspective windows that are opened in Winner when the batch is printed.
For more information on multiple perspective views, see Opening multiple views.
-
Iterate all used heights: Tick this field to make a separate printout for each height used.
Note: This setting only applies to macros for the worktop scheme and the covering panel scheme.
10. Elevation
If a printout macro that is made for the elevation is selected, settings in this group box allow you to select which elevations should be printed.
- Walls: Users can select which walls should be printed.
-
All sectional views: Users can tick this box to print all sectional views.
For more information, see How to add sectional views to the batch print. - Ceiling: Users can tick this box to print the ceiling, for example for installation drawings.
-
Floor: Users can tick this box to print the floor, for example for installation drawings.
For more information, see How to add the floor or ceiling to a batch print.
