This function can be useful for example if you have copied a decor from one wall to another, and the walls do not have the same length.
If you want to lock the decor to one or more of the decor area’s edges, in the Room surface decor properties window, click on the Lock to edges button. For more information on how to access Room surface decor properties click here.
In this example the wall decor area is used. The same procedure also applies when the decor area is a floor or ceiling.
In this dialogue box you can choose whether the decor should be locked to one or more edges of the wall or whether you want to keep the height/width of the decor.
Lock wall decor to the edges of the room surface (wall, ceiling or floor)
Here you can select /un-select the locking of decors to wall, ceiling or floor. If a decor is locked against a wall edge, the decor will always follow this edge even though you alter the edge’s length. If the decor is not locked to the edge, the decor will not change even though you alter the edge’s length.
If you shorten the edge’s length so that one or more decors are removed, then these will not return even though you have the lock on and you lengthen the edge again.
If you save the decor(s) in a room palette, all the decors that are locked to an edge, will automatically be stretched to the edge in a new alternative irrespective of the room size.
NOTE! You can only lock rectangular decors against edge(s).
Preserve size of decor area when room surface is resized
This option is used to create a border that goes along a wall, floor or ceiling and you want to save this border in a room palette. The border will be correctly placed in a new alternative irrespective of the room size or whether you alter the size of the existing room.
