You can create an addition of a bay window in your plan by taking the following steps:
Note: this is the method from version 12.4a3 onwards.
Begin by inserting your walls.
- In this example, Wall 1 will be the base for creating the bay window.
The measurements in this example are: - Bay window front width: 2000mm
- Walls on each side of bay window: 1000mm
- So the initial wall length required in this example will be 6000mm.
Create points in Wall 1
- Right-click on Wall 1 and select Add point.
- In the Split line in two window, enter 1000mm into Distance A to create the wall on the left side of the bay window.
- Right-click on Wall 2 and repeat the process: select Add point and enter 1000mm into Distance B to create the right side wall.
You will now have 3 walls on the same line.
Parallel Shift Wall 2
-
Right-click Wall 2 and select Parallel shift.
- In the Parallel shift line window, enter the distance you want the bay window to extend out. In this example it will be 2000mm.
- Click OK.
Walls have been automatically created on both sides.
Shorten the length of Wall 3
- Double-click Wall 3.
- In the Wall properties window, change the Length from 4000 to 3000.
- Select the change will affect the previous wall icon
- Click OK.
-
Double-click Wall 3 again.
- Change the Length this time from 3000 to 2000mm.
- Select the change will affect the next wall icon
- If necessary use the toggle icon until the preview shows the shape you require.
- Click OK.
A bay window has now been added to the plan. If the extension is too far or short, use Parallel shift to make adjustments:
- Right click Wall 3.
- Select Parallel shift.
- In the Parallel shift line window, enter the amount you want to adjust the extended length.
Note: Enter a minus figure to shorten.
