This article gives instruction on:
- How to copy an alternative and all it contains from one project to another - done from Project level.
- How to copy the alternative room plan only and create the copy in the same project - done from Project level.

From Project level
How to copy an alternative from one project to another
- Create or open the Project you want to copy the Alternative into. For example project B.
Note: If you have multiple project databases, select the correct database for the project you are working in. - Select Alternative > Import > Alternative from local database...
or in Flex, you can select Alternative from Flex database... dependent on where the alternative is stored. - Select the Project containing the alternative you wish to copy (for example project A) and then select the Alternative and click Open.
- Name your new alternative and click OK.
- A copy of the alternative in Project A will now be created in Project B.
How to copy the room plan only within the same project
- Open the Project containing the Alternative you wish to copy the room plan of.
- Select the Alternative to copy.
- Click Alternative > New on the menu bar.
- Name your new alternative and click OK.
- The preview window will state Empty alternative, but if you double-click to open it you will see the Select Model screen and can proceed as usual. Once the usual selections have been made the copy of the empty room plan will appear.
From Alternative level
- Select Alternative > Save as.
- Name your new Alternative and press OK.
