In Winner you can register frequently used text or comments that can be used later in several projects for different customers. The texts can be used, amongst other things, as texts added to a quotation line, added to objects such as installation symbols, covering panels and worktops.
Access Standard texts from Project level by selecting Menu option: Register > Standard texts
Adding a Standard Text
If you want to add a standard text, do the following:
- At project level start the menu option Register > Standard texts.
- Click on the Add Title button.
- Register a code or a name to identify the text and click OK.
When you click on OK the new text code or name will automatically be added to the left-hand list in the window for standard texts. The cursor will then move to the right-hand list where you can enter the complete text that should be linked to the new text code or name. - Add the required text in the right-hand list. Then click OK to save or Cancel to cancel the procedure.
Sorting
Winner will automatically sort the text codes in the list so that they are displayed in alphabetical or numerical order, dependent on the text titles you have created. Therefore you should plan in advance how you want this register to be built so that it is easy for you to select the required text from the list.
TIP! To order text files that are numbered they must be numbered in the following way: 01, 02, 03 etc. If not the numbers will appear in the following order in the list: 1, 10, 2, 20 etc.
Changing a Standard Text
Title or Code:
To change an existing text title or code, do the following:
- Start the menu option Register > Standard texts.
- Highlight the relevant text title or code in the left-hand list.
- Click on the Edit Title button.
- Change the text title or code to the correct value.
- Click on OK to save the change or click on Cancel to cancel the change.
Actual text
- Start the menu option Register > Standard texts.
- Highlight the relevant text title or code in the left-hand list.
- Click into the right hand list and alter the text.
Deleting a Standard Text
To delete a standard text, do the following:
- Start the menu option Register > Standard texts.
- Highlight the relevant text code in the left-hand list.
- Click on the Delete title button
- Click on OK to save the change, or click on Cancel to cancel the change.
NOTE! When a text code is deleted in the register the corresponding text will not be deleted on customers that have used this text.
Using a Standard Text
- Click where the text is to appear e.g. on a furniture unit, on a line of the quotation.
- Then either right-click and select Add comment or
- Select the Add comment icon on the toolbar.
- Click on the Select button.
- Select the text title required in the left hand list. Click on OK.
- Under the section Comments visible in, select the Type (this is the area in which the comment will appear) and Mode (which mode it will appear in). The Type defaults to Normal but you can change it to a different area if required. The Mode is always set to Furnishing but you can add Room definition by ticking the checkbox.
Note: In the case of an installation object, it will only allow you to select the type as Installation. - Click OK to confirm you're choices.
- The selected text will now be placed and will be visible in the area and mode you selected.
All text, by default, has a line going to where you selected it should appear. To get rid of this line:
- Click on the text then right-click and select Properties.
- At the bottom of the Comments linked to object ... window uncheck the tick box Draw line/arrow from comments to object.
Note: you can also change from an arrow to a straight line in this window.
Exporting and Importing Standard texts
It can be useful to share the Standard texts so all users can access the same database.
- Select the database.
- In the Standard texts window click the Export button.
- Select where to save the zip file and click Save.
- Transfer this file to the PC that will Import the database.
- In the Standard texts window click Import and find the Zip file and click Open.
