This feature ensures you always work on the newest version of a document.
When a document is created it is automatically saved to the Flex platform. If the document is modified on your local PC, for example an .RTF file that has been manually edited, it is saved in the local export folder.
When a user opens the export directory/folder Winner shows a message about the different versions of the documents. You will see this message if you have a newer local version of the document:
If the local copy is newer than the copy in Flex, it has the following consequences:
- Local file isn't synced, but has the same filename.
- It requires the user to upload the file to Flex manually (if they wish), otherwise the Flex copy stays in its original form. For instructions on how to upload a document see below:
How to upload a document to the Flex platform
- Click on Alternative in the tool bar and select the option Documents.
- Click the Attach new document button on the top toolbar.
- Click the upload button next to File and browse your computer to select your file from the local directory.
- If required, change the name (will default to the filename).
- Select the remaining criteria for this document:
Type is the document type which synchronises with Winner Flex desktop.
If you select to upload to a project, then you can select a design within that project.
- In Privacy Level select which other users can access this document:
Shared with shop– All users in the current shop have access.
Shared with company– All users in this shop and all company shops have access.
Private document– Only you, the current user has access.
- Click Save to complete the document upload. You will see a notification when upload is complete.
