Some kitchen suppliers use Block calculation as a special discount system. The intention is to give you a special discount.
Access Block calculation via Menu option: Alternative > Block calculation (from the alternative window or the project level)
The Block calculation window provides all the information available for the catalogue selected for your Alternative:
A- Block definitions
This will show you what options of blocks you have, and the figures to aid your selection.

Code. All available block codes for the catalogue selected is listed here.

Name. Name of the blocks - this can be changed in the Block calculation via Catalogues. See Register: Block calculation for more information.

Sales price.

Group columns. Figures for the price groups your block group are shown here.

Valid from/ Valid until. Informs you how long the block is valid for. This is adjusted in the Indexing of the selected catalogue. See Conditions properties for more information.
B - Calculation options
Assists in selecting the most suitable block.

Calculation options. Click Find the best block to allow Winner to select for you.

Allow block calculation across pricegroups. All price groups of the manufacturer will be calculated (not only the main model)

Show expired/invalid blocks. Tick the box to show all blocks registered. This is useful to check invalid blocks which can then be updated in Conditions properties if required.
C- Groups in the block
Lists the groups available for the block you have selected in section A.

Selected block. Confirms which block is selected for the calculation.

Groups in the block - Group. Lists and subtotals the groups from the catalogue that are featured in the block.

Block amount. Column for all the codes in the block.

Quotation. Column for the figures to be used in the quotation.

Not used. The figure for: Block amount (3) minus Quotation (4). It highlights when you have not completely filled the Block amount

Extra. The figure for: Quotation (4) minus Block amount (3). It highlights when you have more in the quotation than the block can fit.
D - Discount and Quotation totals
Provides the figures at a glance.

Total block amount. Sum of Block amount.

Block price. Cost price of the block (calculated with the index settings)

Maximum block discount. Sum of Block amount (1) minus Block price (2)

Unused block discount. Sum of Not used (C-5)
-
Used block discount. Maximum block discount (3) minus unused block discount (4)

Total articles. Sum of all codes in the quotation for the selected catalogue. (7)

Block discount. Minus amount of used block discount (5)
-
Block discount drop-down. Select how much discount to transfer to the customer.

Total incl. discount. Total articles (6) minus Block discount (7)

Total other catalogues. All codes that cannot be calculated in the block calculation (e.g. other catalogues/manufacturers)

Quotation total. Total incl. discount (9) plus Total other catalogues (10)
E - Calculation basis

These calculation options will affect the presentation in the section Block definitions (A). For example, if you select Show purchase prices, the column is now visible in section A:
