Catalog creation in Winner is a feature you can use if you are frequently adjusting in your plans:
- prices to match your own set of prices
- specific sets of unit measurements
- code references
It is also useful if you are supplying the products yourself. You can create your own catalog in CMC using the following steps:
Register your catalog
- At Project level, click on Additional modules in the Menu bar and select Catalog customisation.
- In the Catalog customisation window, click on Catalog in the menu bar and select New.
- In the New catalog window, enter the name for your catalog and click OK.
Add your Product group and Model
You will need to enter at least one Product group with at least one Model.
- In the Catalog customisation window, click to highlight your catalog in the list.
- Click the Groups/Models button on the right-hand side.
- In the Groups/Models window click on the Product groups tab and select Add group.
- In the New product group window enter the name for the product group and click OK.
The named product group will now appear in the Product groups drop-down.
- Click Products groups on the menu bar and select Group properties.
- In the Product group properties window you can rename the Product group, and set the price group and price index.
Note: Ticking the Don't enter order/quotation head will mean that the catalog will not appear in the printout header. Click OK when you have entered the required data.
- Click the Models tab and select Add Model.
- In the New model window enter the name for the Model and click OK.
- The Model properties window will automatically appear. Check the details of the name, the name on printouts and the pricing details and click OK.
- Click Close, to return to the Catalog customisation window.
Add/Edit your Products
- In the Catalog customisation window, click to highlight your catalog in the list.
- Click the Products button on the right-hand side and select Add/Edit Products.
- The Products window will currently be named [No products]. You will define your products in this window.
- The mandatory fields to enter to define your product are Code and Drawing type:
Code - The product code needs to be unique.
Drawing type - this is set to None as default. Select a drawing type from the drop-down box.
Note - If you are creating a worktop catalog, at least one product needs to be defined as Drawing type Worktop.
- The calculation fields on the right are needed for your quotation. Enter the information you require.
NOTE: If the unit is calculated in meters, for example a worktop, you should select Calculation and in the dialog Quantity calculation the Equation will be L. For square meters the Equation should be set as L*D.
- Enter the price of the unit in the Price group field at the bottom of the window. If you have multiple price groups, first select the relevant price group in the Prices section above.
- Click the Save button before moving to a new product.
- To enter another new product, click the forward arrow key at the top left.
- Once you have finished entering your products click OK.
Follow the instructions below to import items from any source catalog into your user defined catalog. This is useful when creating a user-defined catalog, for example for stocked items, such as sinks, mixer taps, or electrical appliances as associated graphics and textures will automatically be transferred with the imported item.
- In the Catalog customisation window, click to highlight your catalog in the list.
- Click the Products button on the right-hand side and select Import Products (from other catalogs).
- In the Catalog products window select Import.
- In the Select product window select the catalog from the drop down list under Suppliers, find the item required, and select OK.
- The product will now show in the list. You make other personalizations by highlighting the item and selecting Edit. This will open the Product window.
After creating the catalog, you are able to proceed with the price settings and customisations for it.
For help with this see section Catalog customisation- making adjustments in the following article:
CMC: How to set up and use the Catalog Maintenance Component
This instructs you on using the Quick process. However in some cases it is not possible to use the Quick process function when settings the conditions of a catalog using CMC. For example when you have multiple shops with different conditions or certain catalogs that do not allow the use of Quick process. In these instances see article:
CMC: How to set up customisations without using quick process
You have now completed the creation of your own catalog and can publish it when you are ready.
