How to add a special code to a rebuilt unit

This function offers the ability to give a code to a rebuilt or customized item that your respective manufacturer will accept and process.  This is useful when ordering special items, or if the code required is not in the supplier catalogue.  It is also useful when using a generic catalogue, such as Design 1234, and you want to use your own codes/pricing.

To add a special code and price

Once you have rebuilt your unit, for more information see Rebuilding a unit, a special code and price can be added.

At Alternative level, in Furnishing mode:

1. Select the unit, right-click and select Extra codes.
   
   
2. In the Extra codes window, select New > Item line.
   
   
3. Under product type, select Customized.
   
   
4. Enter the information for the customized item line in the following fields:
   In the Code column, enter a code number.
   In the Description column, enter a description.
   In the Total column, enter a price.
   
   
5. Click Add. The new item line is displayed in the Extra codes window.
   
   
6. Click OK. The Extra codes window closes. 

To exclude the original item code from the quotation

Now a special code has been added, the original item code can be excluded from the quotation.

At Alternative level, in Furnishing mode:

1. Select the unit, right-click and select Model/Price details.
   Note: Or select the unit and press F6 on the keyboard.
   
   
2. In the Model/Price information window, under Properties product at the bottom of the window, untick the option for Quotation line. 
   
   
3. Click OK.

To show the special code on the order

Because the special code is allocated to no supplier, the relevant supplier must be allocated in the quotation.

At Alternative level, in Furnishing mode:

1. Open the Quotation by clicking on the calculator icon:
   
   
   
   
2. In the Quotation window, double-click the violet item line to edit it.
   Note: For more information, see What do the different colors in the quotation mean?
   
   
3. Under Catalogue, at the bottom left of the window, click the drop-down box and select the relevant manufacturer's catalogue. 
   
   
4. Under This item, click the Apply button.
   Note: The item line will now be blue-green.
   
   
5. Select Alternative > Save.
   Note: Or Press Ctrl+S on the keyboard
   
   Note: Once you have sent the quotation and the sales contract the special code details will appear on your order. It is recommended to send a graphic of a rebuilt unit for the manufacturer's reference.
