If a catalogue shows in red font in your catalogue list followed by a valid from date in brackets it means that the valid from date has not been reached yet. This article explains the reason for this.
Note: The only other reason for a catalogue showing in red font is that it needs indexing for more information on this see article Catalogue indexes.
Suppliers have the ability to publish several versions of their catalogue at the same time with some having a valid from date. This means for example that they could publish a price increase three months before it comes into effect and then designers can work with either the current version of the catalogue or the future version of the catalogue depending on the project. So that you know which version you are working with the future version always appears in red font.
If they have done this then the latest valid version and the future version will show in your catalogue lists, without you having to select show all catalogues. However the catalogue that is not valid yet will appear in red followed by the Valid from date in brackets.
If you print, create a .PDF, or an ASCII Export using the older version of the catalogue, you will get a warning message in red for example:
--> Catalogue should be checked:
In this Drawing you are using the Catalogue "Catalogue 2023-1 D-CH".
There is a newer Catalogue "Catalogue 2023-2 D-CH (Valid from 01.06.2023)" installed.
