Winner Design projects are saved locally. After upgrading to Flex, projects will automatically be accessible in Winner Flex. You can import projects from Winner Design into Flex if needed, but it's recommended to import only as required. Your existing projects remain available in Winner Flex if you have access to the local project folder.
Please consider the following before choosing your method:
Through migration:
- The project will keep the project number and the project status.
Note: If the project number has already been used in the Flex projects database then you will not be able to use the migration option and will be forced to use Insert as new.
- Documents which are located in the Winner Design export folder will be migrated to Flex Documents in the cloud, so that you easily can access them from any device.
- It will take care of your EANCOM orders and migrate the related information to Flex, for each single project you migrate. By doing this, we ensure that the order comparison (Order response) can be processed from any device.
Through Import as new:
- The project will take on the next project number in the sequence set in Winner Flex and it will not have any status assigned to it.
- No documents or renders will be migrated but can be found in your Winner export folder and uploaded to the Flex platform should you wish to do so.

IMPORTANT! It is recommended to only import projects as they are needed. The imported projects are archived in the old database. It is recommended that you invite all the users (Salesperson / Designer) in the Flex Company before starting the migration, to improve mapping efficiency. See Mapping for more information. |
Import a project from your local Database to Flex
- In the Menu bar, select Project
- Go to Import and select From offline project database
Note: if you have more than one offline/local database it will show the file paths including the names given for these.
If you cannot see any database follow the steps to map your Project database: click here.
- In the Project List window click the Search button at the bottom of the window to use the filter. You can filter for the project(s) you want to migrate – e.g. by using a filter of the last changed date.
-
Press the CTRL key to mark multiple projects from the filtered list or press CTRL+A to mark all of them and click either the Migrate button or the Import as new button at the bottom of the window.
Note: It is recommended to only migrate 5 projects at a time as speed will vary depending on the size of the projects.
- The import will start.
IMPORTANT! If you have selected to migrate a project, where the project number or invoice number of the source project already exists inside Flex, the project will not be migrated. In such a case you would have to select the Import as new button which would import the project as a new project with the next free project number from the number range.
Mapping
During the import, Winner Flex will also try to map the Salesperson and Designer assigned to the local project with the Salesperson and Designer from Flex. In cases where they cannot be matched automatically the Select Flex user window will ask where you can map the Salesperson / Designer from the Local Project to the Salesperson / Designer inside Flex.
-
It is recommended that you invite all the users (Salesperson / Designer) in the Flex database before importing, to improve mapping efficiency.
- The mapping will be saved and reused for all the projects you import. This means, that if you map a local user “AA” with a Flex user “BB”, user “AA” from a local project will always be assigned to the Flex user “BB”.
The import will also include the customer used in the source project in your local database. In case the customer does not exist inside Flex, the Select customer from project window will provide two options:
Option 1: Select a customer from Flex from the list and click Use selected
Option 2: Create a new customer with the customer information stored in the project by selecting Insert as new
