In most catalogues the products are divided into logical groups. for example all the products that are of the same type, such as all worktops, are placed in the same group. The groups are used to make it easier for you to search for products in Winner.
If the catalogue contains a search group called Base unit, then only the products that belong to this group are shown in the window when you select this search group.
To select from a search group when designing
- At alternative level, right click in the Code box.
- This lists the different search groups in the catalogue.
- Select the search group in which you want to locate an item.
Access search groups via the catalogue list
- Menu Option: Register > Catalogues.
- Click on the Products button in the Registered catalogues window.
- Then select the Product tab, and click on the Search group All items button.
Working with search groups
Changing search group for a particular product
- Highlight the relevant catalogue in the Registered catalogues window.
- Click on the Products button. Winner opens the product register.
- Make sure that the relevant product appears in the window.
- Click on the Search group All Items button.
- Highlight the search group that the product belongs to. If the product does not belong to an existing search group, highlight the search group All items.
NOTE! If the plus sign appears in front of a search group, click on it and you should see all the underlying groups. - Click OK.
Creating a new search group
- Highlight the relevant catalogue in the Registered catalogues list.
- Click on the Products button. Winner opens the product register.
- Click on the Search group button for one of the products. The procedure for registering search groups appears.
- Highlight which search group the new group belongs to. If the new search group does not belong to an existing search group, highlight the search group All items.
NOTE! If the plus sign appears in front of a search group, click on it and you should see all the underlying groups. - Click on the New button.
- Enter the name of the new search group, and confirm with OK.
Deleting a search group
- Highlight the relevant catalogue in the Registered catalogues list.
- Click on the Products button.
- Click on the Search group button in the product register. The procedure for registering search groups appears.
- Highlight which search group you wish to delete.
- Click on the Delete button.
NOTE! If the search group you are deleting contains subgroups, then these groups will also be deleted.
All the products in a search group that has been deleted, will automatically be placed in the search group All products.
Changing the name of a search group
- Highlight the relevant catalogue in the Registered catalogues list.
- Click on the Products button. Winner opens the product register.
- Click on the Search group button for one of the products. The procedure for registering search groups appears.
- Highlight the relevant search group.
NOTE! If a plus sign appears in front of a search group, click on it and you should see all the underlying groups. - Click on the Rename button.
- Enter the new name for the search group, and confirm with OK.
NOTE! All the products that belong to the changed search group will automatically be updated with the new name of the search group.
