You often need to register several item codes that logically belong together. There can be a drawer section that contains a cutlery inlay needing to be registered with an item code and price, or a cabinet with an exposed side that will be veneered on one side. The veneering is often registered with an item code and a price, and must therefore be linked to the veneered cabinet. Often it is useful to register an additional text that can be linked to an object so that the customer is given an extra explanation regarding the item line.
You can register additional lines through both the drawing and quotation registrations. Additional lines are not visible in the drawing but appear as a separate item line in the quotation. Codes that are linked to an object in the drawing will display in the same numbering position in the quotation. Extra codes added separately to the quotation will be given a new position number and will not be linked to any other code. See article Adding a new or additional line in the quotation for more information.
Linking additional lines to an object
- Select the object in either the plan, perspective or elevation view.
- Right-click and select Extra codes from the list. Alternatively press Shift + F5 on your keyboard.
- In the extra codes window, click the New button.
- Select item line from the drop-down.
- Type the extra code you want to add. You can click the more options icon next to the code box to search through the catalogue.
- Choose any other settings for the extra code and click the Add button when completed.
- Click OK when you have finished adding extra codes.
- Your quotation will now show any codes you have added to the object with the correct position number. For example if your cabinet is position 1, the new extra code will be 1.1 etc.
